Lustrous, white and splendid pearl jewelry is what defines beauty…..

Since ages, jewelry has adorned the aura and beauty of the female species and its glamor and magic continues till date. Gold, silver, diamond and various other gemstones have embellished the wide array of jewelry, so much so that today we find a whole wide range of jewelry in varied designs and patterns. Pearl, however, has maintained a distinct position in the jewelry segment. A symbol of purity, truth and love, pearls have an altogether different luster of their own. The white lustrous shine and shimmer of the pearls define sophisticated and glamorous jewelry.

The white lustrous crystal, round in shape evolves from the soft velvety tissues of a living shelled mollusk. This unique crystal known as pearl is in fact a chemical composition of calcium carbonate in minute crystalline form. An ideal round shaped white Pearl is valued higher than various other gemstones. However, the quality of the pearls is determined by various factors such as the color, luster, shape, size, lack of surface flaw and symmetry. Moreover, it is the lustrous appeal of the pearl which makes one score over the other pearls. Size does matter and the larger size of the pearl also determine its value.

Generally eight different shapes have been discovered in pearls namely, round, semi-round, button, drop, tear-drop, oval, baroque, and circled. Used in necklaces, earrings, pendants, bracelets, the pearls simply define rare and pure beauty. Not only shape and size, the pearls differ in colors as well. Ranging from pink, blue, champagne, green to even purple, pearls shimmer in varied shades.

Fine pearls not only make up for valuable possession but also a rare Jewelry showcase which makes one stand apart. Different pearl jewelry like pearl necklace, pearl bracelet, pearl ring, pearl earring or in various other forms, pearl in any shape, size and color steals the show.

Tahitian Pearls or “Black” pearls, South Sea Pearls, Freshwater Pearls and Akoya Pearls are famously known for the stunning colors and absolutely amazing shapes. Marvelous shades of green, blue, bronze, black and greyish shades make up for great pearl jewels. The rare overtones of purple, green and blue further adds to the exotic nature of the pearls.

Amongst the cultured pearls, South Sea pearls are most highly valued and appreciated for their large size and dazzling golden or silver-white colors. Freshwater pearls showcase immense talent for little money that is invested in them and therefore is a much safer bet to go for as they are naturally endowed with colors like white, ivory, peach, pink, lavender and burgundy. Akoya pearls are yet another famous pearls which have been widely acclaimed due to their brilliant luster. Grown in the cooler waters of Northern latitudes, these pearls are adorned with a very high-quality nacre coating.

It’s not only the beauty and perfection that makes pearl and pearl jewelry a favourite amongst the jewelers and buyers across the globe but pearl has various other attributes to count for. Its religious as well as astrological importance makes it a valuable creation. Astrologers prescribe pearls for Cancerians for their overall well-being as well as those who have Moon in a debilitated position in their horoscope charts. Pearl’s healing properties and astrological significance have made it a highly demanded gemstone across the world.

Pearl has been raised to such zeniths of popularity that other than natural pearls, cultured pearls have also flooded the global markets. Not only in quality but also in prices, the cultured pearls are placed below the natural ones. It’s tough to make out the difference between the two; however, only expertise and jewelers can point out the real to the fakes.

This gives us a reason to be assured enough about the pearls that we are buying as we may be deceived and might face a loss of not only money but faith as well. Therefore, in case you are looking forward to burn a hole in your pocket make sure, it does not hurt and add to your jewelry box. Beaded jewelry…Artistic and appealing to the eyes

Creating a style statement has never been this simple. With the advent of beaded jewelry, fashion has acquired a new momentum altogether. The beads of different materials, when combined together, are enough to set a new trend in the world of fashion.

The wide ambit of Beaded Jewelry comprises of earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings, etc. The beads that appear in these jewelries can be both large and small. The smallest beads that are used in making beaded jewelry are seed beads, used in the woven style of beaded jewelry. In recent times, many celebrities have adopted the trend of wearing these jewelries, due to which the market for these kind of jewelry items have risen like never before. The beads that form the core of such Jewelry, can be made from both synthetic and natural materials, and even from semi-precious metals. They are available in single or multiple strands necklace, earrings, bracelets, etc. My collection of beaded jewelry encompasses a wide spectrum of bracelets and earrings, each looking completely different from the other, and complimenting my personality to the full.

We can ourselves make beaded jewelries by using the beads of several materials that we feel can be used in making jewelries. Some of the most popular forms of making beaded jewelry are tiger tails, eye pins and beading threads. In the tiger tail method, the beads are held in particular places around either a necklace, bracelet, or the drop of an earring.

With the eye pin method, seed beads or feature beads can be used to make long chains of varying length to easily become an earring drop, necklace or bracelet. The beading thread method involves the use of seed beads to create intricate designs, thereby transforming a simple bead int an iconic fashion accessory.

Since my knowledge of beaded jewelry is limited as far as making them on my own is concerned, I ended up searching at the Internet to know more about the different varieties of beaded jewelries that are available in the market. My fascination with beaded jewelry was so intense that I was actually looking for prospective manufacturers who would help me in my business of exporting attractive beaded jewelry items.

I was lucky enough to come across www.tradeindia.com, a B2B portal from where i could get access to the world’s leading beaded jewelry manufacturers and suppliers. This website provided me a complete list of all the companies that are dealing in beaded jewelry for many years. In fact, i also posted my requirements on the website, and the response that i got has been tremendous.

Gemstones…. known for their enthralling sparkle, cuts and astrological relevance…

Gemstones…. known for their enthralling sparkle, cuts and astrological relevance…

The sheen, glitter and charismatic features of gemstones attract everyone’s attention. They look marvelous when used with precious and semi precious metals including gold, silver and platinum. We can easily discover ladies flaunting gemstone jewelry in almost every corner of the world. These minerals or combination of minerals, are gaining importance among all age groups. Gemstone jewelry like gemstone studded earrings and necklaces, are a hit among college going girls and young women. Whereas, bracelets studded with gemstones, are quite popular among young boys. Renowned for their durability, gemstone jewelry are sturdy enough to be enjoyed by generations. Gemstones like Aquamarines, Diamonds, Emeralds, Opals, Pearl, Ruby, Sapphires, Spinels, Topaz, etc. are used worldwide by jewelers in designing their collection.

Before jumping towards Gemstone Jewelry, let’s clear up the haze from the word ‘gemstone.’ A gemstone or simply a gem, is a portion of an attractive mineral, which when cut and polished, displays a high degree of sparkle, rarity and durability. The stunning beauty of this small and tiny, yet seductive piece of minerals, is capable of stealing the heart of everyone, right from an ordinary housewife to the heart of celebrities. The most important aspect of a gemstone is its ‘rarity’- means the economical value of these precious and semi-precious stones is measured in terms of its rarity in appearance. Several stones including the diamond, ruby, sapphire, emerald, etc. have high economic value because of their rarity or appearance.

Generally, gemstones are categorized as naturally found and the human made stones. Gemstones falling under the former category are procured naturally, whereas synthetic gems are created artificially. The basic unit for weighing gemstones is the carat, which is equal to one-fifth 91/5th of a gram. Since Jewelry without gemstones looks incomplete, there is a huge demand for gemstone jewelry like gemstone studded rings, necklaces, gemstone studded bracelets, earrings, rings and other jewelry products in the entire market.

After collecting raw minerals, polishing and cutting is done to make jewelry or other adornments. The value of a gemstone is identified by gemologists, who possess mastery in ‘gemology or gemmology’, a separate branch of mineralogy that deals in identifying and evaluating gemstones. Generally, most gemstones are hard, but they are used with some soft materials while designing jewelry. For centuries, gemstones have been widely used by various cultures for specific reasons. Some used them for their beauty, whereas in some cultures they were used for their healing and astrological properties. According to Maria Leach’s Standard Dictionary of Folklore, “Belief in the supernatural properties of precious stones goes back beyond recorded history”. Historical writings throw light on various uses of these semi-precious and precious pieces of minerals. They were used as medicines, for creating good luck, financial gains or even for finding a soul mate.

Even today, many people of the world, particularly the Indians use gemstones for their astrological and healing powers. According to the Vedas, the nine planets have been assigned nine different gemstones; for instance Ruby (Manik) for Sun, Pearl or Moti for Moon, Red Coral (Moonga) for Mars, Emerald (Panna) for Mercury (Budha), Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj) for Jupiter (Guru), Diamond (Heera) for Venus (Shukra), Blue Sapphire (Neelam) for Saturn (Shani), Gomedha for Rahu and Cat’s Eye (Lahusunia) for Ketu.

Earlier, India was the primary market of gemstones and gemstone jewelry. But their luster and beauty coupled with healing properties and astrological significance have made them a highly demanded item all across the world. Jewelry embedded with gemstones like rubies, emeralds, sapphires, swiss/london blue topaz, lemon/smoky quartz, amethyst, citrine, aquamarine, tourmaline, etc. are in high demand all across the globe.

But to find an authentic gemstone is not at all an easy task. Though many online stores offer a range of gemstones and gemstone studded jewelry items, but only a few are reliable. While surfing on the Internet, I came across a portal named Tradeindia.com. This portal contains a large data of gemstone suppliers, manufacturers and exporters of gemstones, gemstone jewelry, loose gemstones, precious gems, precious gemstones, semi precious gemstones and semi precious stones. One of the suppliers of semi-precious and precious gemstones was offering the widest selection of raw gemstones and gemstone studded jewelry. That was really a marvelous experience for me.
